Just came back from a trip to Taipei and had the privilege of flying Business Class on CX.
The service was amazing, attentive beautiful flight attendants, nice flat bed, entertainment system(hardly used anyway). The only thing missing is the energy of economy; there were a lot of snobby older people who didn't treat the flight attendants well eg. Demanding Espresso coffee in a snappy tone when the flight attendants were pushing trolleys, getting flight attendants to put bags into the overhead compartment when they could really use the excercise.

It was a great experience, but would probably not join business class again because most people are rude and arrogant . Wishing there were more down to earth, and there was a better energy on the flight I was on. Understand privacy, and people needing to relax; but there is no need to be so demanding.

But overall CX great service, really feel for your flight attendants and the type of snobs there are on Business Class, it wouldn't hurt for them to smile once in a while and socialise.

Hmmm.. interesting opening post JT.

It left me confused.

I am no snob, I believe I am very nice to staff in planes and everywhere else on earth (even if they are not "beautiful"), I am not arrogant, I am not rude. But on the other hand, often when I travel the plane is one of the few places I can rest, which minimizes my in-flight socializing desire. And I am getting old, haven't "been to the gym" for a long time, and was never "good looking".

So in your world where should I sit in the plane??

Wow.. you call others snobs then get upset that your fellow passengers werent fit young and good looking.

Wow - its best I don't comment further

Apologies for upsetting anyone with this post, but it is what I observed. There is no real need to be young & good looking, just a friendly and open attitude when travelling. Older people can be handsome or beautiful too, but I just didn't see it on business class travels.

Personally I hate being in them Y cabins so full of young attractive people, I wouldn't fit in there.

Travel business class more often and I'm sure you will see a greater variety of passengers. Old, young, families and stylish polite travellers who are quite happy to place their own luggage in the overhead bins.

Hahaha. That is an exaggeration to say Y is paradise. The service is less amazing; however friendships with people are formed easier; perhaps it's because business travellers are too inundated with work to observe their surroundings?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks Princess Fiona, I believe you could be correct; hopefully I will meet a princess or prince like you

People sit in J for the space and yes perhaps the isolation. I know those two let me get on with work if required, or sleeping, or general bumming about in ones seat.

Y is more social out of necessity than any particular capacity of the passengers I'd say.

Just because it's called business doesn't mean everyone there is working. But the seats are larger and it's more private by design. In economy you are basically touching someone else on all sides for most of the flight with no privacy, of course you are more likely to talk.

I don't get on a plane to meet people, but I am young, fit and where possible I only fly business class. I think you need to adjust your expectations of the world. Not everyone wants to talk to you.

As an HR Manager, I'm seeing Jackson having more that one conversation about sexist language in his future if he works in a corporate environment. The language and decriptors are from the 1970s. (Can you tell I just finished Workplace Violence Bystander Training).

Oh God. Youre one of those people, aren't you...... You know, the type that if you make eye contact wont STFU and thinks you need to bond.

Add me to the fat snob list, I barely speak to my own husband when we fly - no way am I going to become besties with the random dude next to me that comes across as a overzealous yapper.

Heck, we fly J so we don't have to speak to strangers and are isolated.

You need to perhaps get around a bit more lad and make another observation after your next 2 or 3 J flights

Lady Cool Cat & I, are flying for the first time in CX J on their new MAD > HKG service next year.... We'll try & be 'hip n cool' for the flight attendants.
I might just have to grow a beard & become a hipster..... That would rock the flight attendants socks off:)

Its not about how you look, its about attitoooode and how you pull off whatever look you've got!

Jackson Tan you are exactly the type of person why I use my noise cancelling head phones as soon as I sit in my business and first class seat. But wait I won't need to anymore because you will be in Y.

My mum makes a lot of friends travelling in Y. She talks a lot. Doesnt fly much and not at all now. I usually feel sorry for the traveller next to her. Last time I switched seats mid flight to give him some free air. He was too nice to say anything.

I think maybe you might mistake quietness for unfriendliness.
