Qantas code share flight on VN

Does anyone know if Vietnam airlines offer upgrades at check in to buy. Have a discount economy fare from SYD-SGN, actually Qantas code share flight!

Not sure about the check in but you can do it on optiontown

Can't do it on optiontown as it is a QF flight number and optiontown requires VN PNR!

Ring Vietnam Airlines and ask them for their PNR, they'll give it to you over the phone. They've got an office in Sydney on Market Street, ph 9285 4700

I have called them and they said that because I have a QF flight number, they don't have a VN PNR...seems weird, right?

Have you looked at checkmytrip.com using the QF PNR, the VN PNR might show if you print the details off.

Impossible, for sure they do have your booking in their reservation system under their own PNR. Incompetent reservations agent?

I don't think you can buy upgrade at check-in from SYD-SGN, especially when your booking is thru Qantas. It is however worth a shot on your way back at TSN Airport! I assume you are traveling over the next few months, which is low season over there and chances are their business class cabin will be fairly empty

Talked to very informed Vietnam airlines customer service rep today who advised it is definitely NOT possible to upgrade Qantas code share flight on Vietnam airlines flight with optiontown or at the airport!

I'd still give it a shot on your way back from SGN-SYD. No matter who your booking is with, they always have the option to upgrade you at TSN Airport and I've done this numerous times in the past. "Everything is negotiable" as Bing Lee ad
