Ok, sitting in the lounge as I type this and have to say disappointing is an understatement. After spending a lovely couple of hours in the SYD QF Domestic J lounge this is really not nice...

-Ottomans in the tv area are covered in gross black marks
-Carpets marked with red wine stains (big ones that have not been attempted at being removed).
-Squashed, unusable bread at the buffet (wtf)?
-Sundried tomatoes appear to have gone off (rancid black pieces in them)
-Warm wine on offer that tastes days old

I entered using a Priority Pass so will be asking for DJ to reverse the charge or at least give a complimentry pass.

I love the DJ lounge in Sydney and this experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth (literally).

Doesn’t sound too good. I’ve only tried the QC in ADL and it was wonderful, though I was in it all day and using the bar a lot!

Perhaps they need red carpets if they have a lot of red spillage!

lol good idea.... it's a bit 'Fawlty Towers' really - gross showers and what seem to be off-duty DJ staff loudly placing bets on horse races...

i'm coping though - discovered the asahi at the bar :)

As you’re there, I recall QF in ADL had a great "local" selection of beer and wine. I’m not sure if you’ve been in the lounge, but how do they compare?

Havent been in the QP but they do have a few ok choices of beer here(probably explains why the wine choices are cough):

Asahi
Fat Yak
Coopers Green
and assorted other CUB beers that the bar staff describe as 'cough' lol

'The Lounge' ADL = Yuck!

Coopers green? I assume you mean Pale Ale

The Lounge in Adelaide sucks. Tiny.
I am certain the temperature is set at 28 degrees. Sweat box.
I just came from Sydney Lounge today. Love it.

And to ensure everything ended on a high... the dragon didn't call my flight and I had to dash out to the sound of "Paging Mr Yohy?!, your flight is fully boarded and awaiting your departure.":rolleyes::rolleyes:

Did you give them any feedback :?:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Did you give them any feedback :?:

Not to the staff directly - I had 2 hours to spend there and there wasn't many people in the lounge (dead quiet) so I wasn't comfortable complaining directly - had it been SYD or MEL I would have raised it immediately with the reception staff (although I doubt they could get away with these types of issues).

I left feedback on the DJ website.

Yeah I tried the ADL lounge about 6 months ago on a premium pass (gift from a client). Pretty lame excuse for a lounge really

Carlton United Breweries

I don’t know them, but:

Victoria Bitter
Carlton Draught
Corona (distribution only)
Melbourne Bitter
Carlton Cold
Carlton Midstrength
Carlton Black
Crown Lager
Carlton Sterling
Pure Blonde
Sheaf Stout
Abbotsford Invalid Stout
Crown Pilsner
Reschs Pilsener

I don’t mind Carlton Draught or Crown Lager.

Well the Lounge at the moment has (and bear in mind I was in the MEL lounge yesterdaya nd the SYD Lounge today):

Crown
Pure Blonde
Cascade Premium Light
Cascade Green
Fat Yak
Carlton Natural Blonde
VB Raw

I think they might have had Carlton Draught as well.
I hate CUB beers. Will drink Crown and will drink Cascade Green if I need to.

Lounge was good when the soccer world cup was on. They had a heap of beers from around the world.

I'll step in here, foot in mouth, here I go..

ADL Lounge, for someone who lives in ADL and uses the ADL Lounge frequenty, I agree it's not a nice lounge.... and as far as lounges go, I actually really like the MEL one, (never been in the SYD Lounge)

the ADL Lounge needs an overhaul, however at the same time i know there space is a tad limited by the size of Adelaide airport..

Do you need two massive meeting rooms? I never see them used... Ever..
Im sure I asked once and was told it's barely used.

Get rid of them? Or have a smaller one..

The Toilet's are not all that great, please improve these, perhaps more like Melb's, they are preety decent.

The buesiness centre feels like your in a rabbit warren, I understand people want privacy but man, it feels dank back there...

And yes, teh carpets, aweful, the seats, aweful... I actually prefer to sit on the square seats at the computer table's as they appear to actually be 98% clean!

'The Lounge' ADL = Yuck!

Somewhat OT but worth sharing.

We stayed at Melbourne airport Hilton last night and I took the obligatory wander to the terminal. Rather than going to the Qantas end (as usual) I went to the Virgin Blue end and had a look around.

In doing so I went and had a look at 'The Lounge' and I have to say it was quite a pleasant experience. A very good and open setup with an adequate supply of good food.

The bar was well stocked with enough booze for several FT AGM's and the staff were very friendly.

The only down side was one guy wearing a pair of shorts that rivaled drron's golf shorts :!: :D
