Hi, flying back to Aus tomorrow with my 2 children and have been offered the Digital Travel Declaration Form in the Qantas app for the first time.

The FAQ’s say that I should be able to submit separate declarations for my children travelling with me however I’ve completed my form and couldn’t see any options to complete a declaration for them.

I’m able to edit and resubmit my form but that isn’t what I need.

Does anyone know how I’m meant to do this for my kids? We are all on the same booking.

Not really useful if I still have to do paper forms for them …

Thanks

Are your kids eligible?

Am I eligible?

To participate in the pilot, you must be:

  • a Qantas app user
  • able to complete the declaration in English
  • eligible to use the kiosks and SmartGates at the airport.
Ineligible passengers, or passengers who choose not to participate in the pilot, will clear as per the standard arrangements, with a paper IPC.

Hi there, thanks for your question. The FAQs state that a parent should be able to submit multiple declarations for children from their own device so I don’t think the eligibility of the children is an issue. I’m supposed to be able to do this all from my app.

As long as any child is older than 7 and under 18 , then yes it is allowed to do a group declaration (points 1 & 3 below).
From memory, when you start a declaration in the app it asks if it is a group or single traveller ( I could be wrong). So maybe delete your current one and start a new one.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried re-starting the declaration and the only thing I noticed is it said there were 3 adults in the booking and they should do their own.

Now I realise the kids are on adult fares (over 12) however they are still ‘children’ and it would have been useful to be able to do this all from my app.

Unfortunately no options/ability to do declarations for them.

That's weird. I was able to include the kids in my declaration via the QF app last week. They were on adult fares (over 12). No problems.

Try starting over and triple check every screen as you go. You should definitely see the option to include the kids in the declaration.
