As a premium, frequent traveller of ours we recognise that your entire journey should be premium - even when you’ve left the airport.

As such, our Velocity Platinum and Gold members can now enjoy extra benefits with our program partners, including:

Access to the Platinum or Gold Elite tier of either IHG Priority Club Rewards or, Gold or Diamond tier of the Hilton Honours program.
PLUS
Privilege Executive or Privilege Elite membership with the Europcar Privileges Program or, Hertz #1 Club Gold Five Star or Hertz #1 Club Gold Presidents Circle.
PLUS
Membership with Secure Sentinal, a loss and theft assistance service to help protect your Financial Cards, Mobile Phone and Passport.

Members can enroll into their preferred program via the 'My Benefits' section of their Account, where they will be contacted by each of the individual programs to complete the membership.
Once you have opted in, you will need to fulfill the requirements as specified by each Partner loyalty program to maintain status in their programs. Velocity has no control over this or the chosen program’s terms and conditions.

Will this be an added benefit that you will be taking advantage of?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

IMHO The perk is of far greater benefit for HHonors than for IHG Priority Club.
Now that IS a nice perk when staying at Hilton Hotels:

HHonors Diamond Guarantees:

  • [*=1]Space available (non suite) upgrade[*=1]Executive lounge Access[*=1]Complimentary Breakfast[*=1]1000 HHonors points per stay in lieu of Upgrade, Lounge access and breakfast if desired[*=1]50% HHonors point bonus on base earn.[*=1]Complimentary high-speed internet access in Member's room.

I agree, same goes for the Eurocar offer being better than Hertz, Presidents Circle is not much these days, at least the Eurocar comes with A Club Gold which makes three hotel chains covered!

But A-Club Gold seems easy to get these days, with all those codes available for signup.

I would say HH Gold is of great value here.

Unfortunately work mandates the use of Hertz.

edit: plus I had some not nice experiences with Europcar, and I won't ever use them again.

So is plat with PC, HH Gold is a big win for sure, and note the accom discounts with the eurocar offer.

Yep. Select the HHonors benefits, rather than the Priority Club benefits. So easy to earn PC Platinum anyway.

I know I’m going to go for HH, but what’s the consensus on the two rental car offers. I don’t really rent cars, but if I did in the future, say in Australia or New Zealand, which would be best for me?

Cheers.

Europcar gives A|Club (Gold) membership, and has Audis as their Prestige cars, and a free weekend rental and free additional driver cover.
Hertz gives a free rental voucher after 20 rentals, and has Mercedes as their Prestige cars.

Both should guarantee a 1 class car upgrade.

Europcar for me, but then again we have an Audi at home... NB, Hertz CDPs can be cheaper than Europcar.

Yep, considering their earn rates on rental cars is 100% more points as a DJ Plat than WP!

Rental car earn rates:

Member: 3 points/$ or 800 points/hire outside of Australia/NZ.
Silver: 4.5 points/$ or 1200 points/hire outside of Australia/NZ.
Gold: 5.25 points/$ or 1400 points/hire outside of Australia/NZ.
Plat: 6 points/$ or 1600 points/hire outside of Australia/NZ.

~18 one-day rentals overseas as a plat will get you enough points for a BNE-SIN flight.
~30 one-day rentals overseas as a plat will get you enough points for a LAX-SYD flight.
~40 one-day rentals overseas as a plat will get you enough points for a MEL-LHR flight.

Let me put it another way , $1150 of hire car rental will get you a PE SYD-MEL flight + $50 co payment as a DJ Plat.

$1150 of hire car with QF credits will get you a $25 gift card with Myer .

I'm thinking Eurocar too, I don't rent cars often but a free weekend rental would be nice.

I'd take Europcar over Hertz as well........but I haven't compared the elite tiers of each, yet! I'm Hertz No1 Gold anyway and it doesn't seem to have too many perks (like none).

Europcar, like the others make stuffups which have caused me grief in the past, but not as of late (perhaps because I've been tending to deal more with Avis recently )

:)

Lexus or Mercedes for $230-250 a week every second month is not a bad perk!

Suprised nobody noticed this yet:

Gold and Platinum members who enrol into a car hire program or hotel program as outlined in clause 3(a) and (b), will receive a minimum of 12 months complimentary enrolment in the program from the date of their enrolment in the program, excluding enrolment by Platinum members into the Hilton Diamond Elite Level which is 6 months complimentary membership (Complimentary Elite membership).

So definitely IHG Priority Club for me.

And be careful of this as well:

All Velocity Frequent Flyer members enrolled in a Complimentary Elite membership or Complimentary membership will have their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number entered and selected as their frequent flyer program of choice for the purpose of earning Points during the period of Complimentary Elite membership or Complimentary membership. Unless members contact the Program Partner and elect to nominate an alternative frequent flyer program, this nomination will continue once the period of Complimentary Elite membership or Complimentary membership has ended.
