Having received a .5 status bonus offer before Christmas, and then the booking of a flight after that offer (for once the timing was right!) it occurred to me I was very close to achieving Gold again with Qantas. I'd been Gold before but only dragged there with MrP's extensive travel for a couple of years saw me get the partner offer. Sadly at the time I did not really know what Gold meant. What a waste.

Fast forward seven years and after three or so years on this forum, I finally saw the light. And creative booking saw MrP back to WP where he belongs, just a couple of hundred points shy of LTG, and me rightfully ascending to SG again. In my own right.

This afternoon we jet off to Sydney and then tomorrow morning, Sydney to Auckland. Why the split trip? Well, we must experience, well, I must experience, the Sydney F lounge and our original connecting flight from Adelaide left just 60 minutes to transfer, go through immigration, and experience the lounge! Not good enough - change the ticket. Done! :p

So we will have a quiet weekend in the Bay of Islands, then down to Auckland. Looking forward to seeing QM2 berthed in the Bay of Islands. My first time to NZ, so looking forward to an explore of Auckland while MrP does his work with the client. But in the age of Equality, I seem to have been loaded up with work appointments as well. Only half days on two days but really, with travel etc, might just as well be whole days and be done with it. So as my appointments are computer based learning, also bringing the laptop. The joys of business travel. And MrP thinks it is only right!

But what I am really looking forward to is the flight home - on F, Emirates the A380. And halfway back I return to Gold.

I think I might have a shower to celebrate at that point. :p. After the Dom of course, which is preceeded by a nice sojourn in the Emirates lounge. Getting there early to avoid the mad crush later.

So, on a 3.50 minute flight, I am thinking an hour out of Brisbane should allow the consumption of a nice meal (sadly no caviar on this leg); Dom, of course, and then I need to "freshen" up.

Even JuniorP who thinks having a shower on a plane is a little, um, wanky, says I need to try it. I shall. Photos of course. Carefully staged. Watch out for those tricky mirrors!!!!!

Then I have to get from Brisbane to Adelaide. Why fly direct when you can connect? Brisbane - Melbourne - Adelaide. The joys of living in Adelaide.

Lucky duck! I'm stuck in Brisbane with a function tomorrow that is becoming a nightmare to organise. Want to swap?????

This time last year I think we Dames were swanning it up to Cairns. Right about here:

Oh that was close Dame Older. Almost posted the Irish Ball formal. :D

I've a few trips coming up. Europe in August. Dubai in December with a Qantas F experience (thanks to the AA thread) and then seem to have booked B2B cruises to Alaska for June. Big birthday coming up then. In 14 months time.

I've loaded up the Optus travel pack for NZ so will post updates along the way.

Very busy QP. And waiter drink service. First time I've seen that. Sharing a table/chair set up with randoms.

A nice but packed flight. No shadow for MrP. I pinched it as the three rows around had one.

Nice boxed dinner.

And very hot.

Into Sydney ahead if time and checked into Rydges before we were supposed to arrive.

Nice room looking at runways. I can see the FLounge waiting for me.

Bathroom - those new fangled public glass ones.

Nice array of drinks. But no whitener. Hate black tea. Off to the bar then.

I don't remember the pillow chocs. Am I too pov?

Skating on thin ice with the St Patrick's reference there P. (I'll fess up - it was a very unbecoming photo of moi in green - best deleted!).

Curry looks like the one on offer from SYD to BNE the other night. My box was coming asunder a tad though.

Hot in BNE tonight and have just discovered the hotel has set the room for tomorrow morning's ceremony totally wrongly. Have to go down in an hour and check. The wedding planner had a cushy job compared to this! Still have no idea of numbers yet but at least we have the pollie's names so could make the reserved seating signs!!!! Canapés for some and lunch for some and trying to make sure only the correct ones come to lunch will be fun.

I knew there was a reason I went back to work....so I could have fun of course.
