Hi guys,

I'm looking to book a couple of Air Pacific Biz Saver fares on Air Pacific. The fare basis of these fares is ZBULABFJ - so effectively "Z" class (I think). Route is NAN-MEL.

On the Qantas airline earning table, there is no Z class listed for Air Pacific; only C, D, I and J. Does anyone know if Z class fares are full business earning for Status Credits and FF points?

Should be full J earning on points and SC, AFAIK.

I wou;d be wary - if Z class ain't mentioned (and it definitely aint!) then I would expect no earn whatsoever.

YMMV on this of course - Experiential evidence may indicate otherwise..

Qantas have a "Z' fare as a premium economy ASA. Maybe they don't post it on the Air Pacific earning table because of the possible clash?

To be specific, Z class on QF is award Premium Economy which, aside from classic awards, can indeed be used to purchase discounted WASA's.

I have bought Air Pacific Biz Savers originating from Nadi in the past and received full Qantas business class points and SCs.

Cheers. I saw the QFF earning clause on the fare type rules. But, since Z class is not in the Qantas earning table for Air Pacific, I was concerned they might not honour it. It is very rare to get love from QFF when a fare class is not in the earning table. Glad to see that the earning table is only a guide.

I was thinking it would book into a class other than Z, but both ITA and E/F show as booking into Z.

I am looking at booking a return NAN LAX in Business, and I discovered that the NAN to LAX leg is in Z, I called qantas FF today and they said it is not an earning class, and the class table was updated with air pacific mid January this year. At this point qantas will only credit the C class business with points and status credits. I mentioned that the fare rules said that it was eligible for points ( the qantas rep said, if it is eligible for points it will be eligible for status, but again it isn't in an earning class fare). I was then encouraged to talk to air pacific, I called and waited for 30 min and hung up with out talking to anyone.

Has anyone received QFF credit for Z business with FJ?

Sorry I missed this thread. It was me who travelled BNE-HNL with FJ in J.

I made all my bookings via QF and was on QF codeshares for every leg. Obviously, Point/SC earning was as per a normal QF flight.

I found the Business pricing via qantas.com.au/qantas.com.fj to be the same as the cheapest FJ coded fares.

Not really relevant to the issue here, unless you booked FJ on the FJ website. I have done so before, but I don't have the exact booking class details. But I always earned Qantas FF points and SCs for business class (savers too) when booked on the FJ website.

If the fare rules state it is points earning on QF, then you will get the appropriate points/sc.
