Hi Ade,

This year marks our 25 year partnership with Neil Perry. To celebrate, Neil will be hosting a series of virtual cooking classes, created exclusively for QFF.

As QF WP we invite you, blah blah ...

Easy & Convinient, each menu is designed for two people for just $199 or 25,000 QF points including :

1. A 1 hour virtual cooking class with Neil Perry himself
2. Pre-prepared ingredients and recipes for 5 dishes
3. Home Delivery
4. Complimentary pair of QF J pyjamas

Offer ends 17 Sep 2021

My thoughts - seems like a good idea, especially given I've got a friend's birthday coming up in December and we were planning on going away to HBA and LST for a circuit trip. The trip may or may not happen, so this could be the backup ...

Even if the trip happens, I think it will be a nice gift for my friend.

The 1 hour virtual cooking class with NP himself, not clear if this is going to be a one-on-one session with just me, my mate & NP OR a pre-recorded session to which we get access on the documented date & time. I'd bet that it's the latter, because I'm not convinced that NP would like to do a one-on-one session for only $199/hour ... doesn't sound right

If it's a pre-recorded cooking video and if the dishes are anything to go by what we have seen about NP's dishes, then it feels the pax is paying $199 for a pair of complimentary J pyjamas ...

What's everyone's take on this?

The thing is, I'm a vego (technical term is "lacto-vegetarian") so if I take this offer and mention that I'm a lacto-vego, will NP be able to modify the 5 dishes to my requirements?

Although, the "gift" is for my mate, who is a meat eater ... #confused!

Same standard text for points club plus as well.
The three menus look absolutely disgraceful for a cook at home meal costing $200. Far better to do something similar from a local high end restaurant.
Roast chicken and prawns with potatoes or fillet steak with potatoes and cabbage? Pretty basic meals that most people could do without a Neal Perry video and for a quarter of the price.

It's so exclusive which is why you can find it on the Qantas website 😂.

From the description, you need to have instagram and follow a private instagram account to be able to access a live stream done by NP at the specific time/date. There will be lots of people on the stream and I imagine it's very similar to some of the other cooking instagram lives I've seen recently (specifically Hamish from Hamish and Andy).

Edit : Anyone who's participating should pick up some Marc Newson plates and forks.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

yea ... same standard text for WP as well ..
Even I received it as Gold...
I always feel special when I receive an offer to an 'exclusive experience' which is exclusive to frequent flyers !! So with a membership of around 10 million I am so not going to spend $200 on the opportunity to do my own cooking.

MrsK and I had a look at it. But we'd rather spend the money ordering something through Providoor, donning our Qantas pj's and settle in watching some foodie program via streaming

Looked at it too but like others will cook something special myself and enjoy some of the Qantas Wines from First class and in our QF PJS. :)

I'll just enjoy the wine...

I'll pass because I'm not that much of a cook. But there probably will be people who'll do this - I did the second of the two pre-opening events at Margaret (Neil Perry's Double Bay Restaurant) and we were told that experience sold out in 90 minutes.

I received… and disregarded… the email.

But just to make sure I’m not missing the deal of the year here…

You pay $199 and get sent pyjamas and some green leaves.

Then you log onto an exclusive video stream, at the same time as thousands of other exclusive people, and old mate tells you to put the leaves in a white bowl.

Have I missed anything? ;)

I was going to get on my high horse about not receiving my exclusive email/ invite for "first access" to a Neil Perry event/ cooking class. Thanks to @henrus I can see these are not offered to those in SA so now I will not have to contemplate spending $200 on how to roast a chook.

Quite frankly I'm confused why QLD is also involved in the cooking classes. Anyone in QLD would be much better to just to spend $200 on a nice dinner out for two people instead.

I just chucked the postcodes into a map and it's a much larger area than I thought including North Queensland. The red areas are the "eligible postcodes".
