You fly back to Australia only to be stopped at the airport by Border Force. These are your rights

When it comes to being stopped and searched at the airport, are there certain things customs officers can and can't look at, like laptops or USB sticks?

You're moving through the airport on your way back into the country when you're stopped by Australian Border Force (ABF).

Your bag, laptop, phone and a few USB sticks are being inspected by officers, but what happens if you refuse to be searched? Can you say no?

And it goes further:

Do officers have to say why you're being searched?
No.
Dr Marmo said the increasing trend in Australia, New Zealand and the United States was that officers did not have to give a reason.

So if you have anything private store it in the cloud, remember the URL and your password so there is absolutely no way it can be linked to your travel items.

Otherwise, bend over and think of England, literally and figuratively.
