I swear if any airline I fly brings this in, there will be times when I get the cargo hold!

BEING kept awake by a chatty fellow passenger could become a thing of the past with an airline seating travellers according to their "mood." Travellers will be able to choose from three preferred “flight moods'' according to whether they want to get on with work, make new business contacts or simply not be bothered by someone's droning voice for the duration of the flight.
Latvian airline air Baltic has launched the service, which aims to keep the peace in the skies by seating like-minded flyers next to each other.
“We're the first in the world to offer this,'' air Baltic spokesman Janis Vanags said, adding that passengers would not however be given the option of banning anyone from sitting next to them.

I do not like it and it is confusing.

How about just giving me quiet flights with no internet, no phone, no sms, no gadgets....

I wonder how many people will choose to sit in the "I will talk your head off" section?

Personally I've never had the problem of the overly talkative pax (don't mind a bit of a chat prior to take off, but once in the air I usually like to do my own thing)
That said, headphones are used for more than just listening to music, they can also be used to indicate how interested you are in talking to your fellow pax...

I also have my fluro yellow ear plugs handy. Perfect DND sign.

You mean something like this? (With apologies to original VA/NZ seat map that was posted a while ago)

As I posted here:

"Will menopausal middle aged woman take advantage of this new service so they can discuss hormonal treatments amongst their peers? What about heroi_ addicts – perhaps they can muse over the latest batch doing the rounds in Northern Europe? Perhaps our gay brethren can find their one true love (in the absence of Grindr at 30,000ft)?"

I don't think it will do very well... Didn't KLM do something similar?

Back in the old days it was "will that be smoking or non smoking?"

Now it's "will that be talking or non-talking?"

What about the 'Chanting' and 'Non-Chanting' sections?

Or the "Smokey" or "Non Smokey" sections?

(if you don't get the reference, it's from a movie ;))
