Got this in my mail this morning:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This summer, the YO! group plans to launch a 40 room hotel at Heathrow and a 50 room hotel at Gatwick. A central London hotel will be launched in 2007 - followed by a number of international sites. To deliver "aspirational luxury at a low cost”, the rooms, called cabins, are only 10m2 - but in that space they feature rotating double beds, pull down desks, monsoon shower, flat screen TV and wi-fi access. Rooms will be artificially lit.
The Cabins will be bookable in blocks of four hours to allow "delayed and transfer passengers to relax privately in a hotel environment." Each hotel room has windows that look out onto a 'street' like corridor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently the rooms were inspired by Japan's capsule hotels and the lay-out of first-class cabins on commercial planes. Once it's up and running, anyone care to try and give us a TR :?:
