Hi all
I have just made Qantas Plat (in fact first year past rust(sorry bronze ))
I have my First flight on a380 with Qantas coming up to LHR(have done it with emirates in Y before in ).
already have Y+ ticket and wondering thoughts on extra 60,000 ff points to upgrade to J ?

I have a few points although also have some trips would like to use them on later in year.....
so its it worth it ? (difference between y+ and J on 380....

Long answer

I have done several A380 flights. Economy isn't too bad if you get a good seat. Business is really fabulous. I have just done SYD/LAX return in business on a points upgrade. A truly great product for Qantas. First is pretty good but not that big a step over business.

I haven't done premium economy but wandered through on my various explorations. No flat beds. Still a bit cramped.
Apply for the upgrade, you will not be disappointed if you get it

BTW my upgrade rate seems to have improved since I hit WP.

When I had only flown Int Y, QF Y+ was amazing!
QF J on a380 is great! But their y+ is also one of the best. The big difference is the lie flat bed (im 6'4) food, alcohol and service is still of a high standard in Y+.
But having done the upgrade Y+ to J on QF MEL-LAX twice, I can tell you its hard to go back. I sweat it out praying for the upgrade and have never regretted the points.

Y+ is good on the 380 but J is great - for 60K points it is worth it.

I think the points you spend upgrading from Y/PE to J and J to F on a QF A380 are about the best value for money you can get!

Agree with the comments above. I do Y+ to/from 2-3 times a year and while their Y+ is great, the J experiences I've had (1 op-up and 1 points upgrade) were a big step up.

Upgrades are only available to the next cabin, the exception being where Premium Economy is available you're able to register for an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy or from Economy to Business (points will be deducted accordingly).

Yes, it's possible to only upgrade one leg of your itinerary.
