I'm Platinum. My +1 for this flight is NB.

When I selected 4E for myself I noticed that Expert Flyer showed 4D as available.

Now that I have moved myself to 4D Expert Flyer shows 4E as blocked.

Departure date for this flight is 22/5 (this Sunday).

Search this forum for "Platinum Shadow".

Basically, Qantas use Altea to automatically put a simple block on vacant seats beside those allocated for WP and higher.

If you move your seat this "shadow" follows.

Thanks serfty.

I found it interesting that I didn't have a shadow when I allocated myself the middle seat (with +1 sitting in the window seat).

serfty, I found a previous post of yours in which you suggested selecting middle seat for yourself and allocating the aisle seat to +1.

I did this and found that Expert Flyer shows the window seat as blocked, just as you noted.

Interesting that it doesn't block the aisle seat if you put +1 in the window seat.

I generally see the shadow in the B (or E) seat when sitting in C (or D) seat.

Using E/F it is easier to see the shadow; if you are in the B seat, the A/C seat is often blocked.

Also, I often see the shadow in the A seat when putting my self in the B seat with PG SWMBO in the C seat on a 737.
