Spent the day at home on a warm and sticky Gold Coast with family and friends.

Hunter Valley, NSW. No Christmas day for us until 30th when daughter back from USA. Here's hoping the prawns and ham are cheaper by then.
Anyone at International terminal on Monday late morning for coffee?

Just at home this year (Brisbane) - For some strange reason, pulled an all-nighter.... I did what most AFFers do at silly hours of the morning with the new year fast approaching...

Continued to make further travel plans for 2014 :p

Venice for Christmas and Rome coming up for New Years.
It's Christmas evening and we are about to pop out to a Vivaldi inspired Christmas night concert.

Posting this from the lounge at the Hilton Venice which is a top hotel indeed. So if any members are here here give me a shout.

Also passed through the Park Hyatt Milan which was sensational.

In the QF SYD F lounge...cheapest Xmas meal in town!:D

Not if you had to pay for the F ticket to LHR :)

I'm in surfers paradise now. Christmas breakfast was provided by the ADL QP - pancakes, toast, coffee, fruit punch (with excellent service by all staff). Christmas lunch was a beef burrito provided by QF accompanied by a 2013 Coke Zero.

On the beach in Southern California, 28C and good body surfing waves, water is a bit chilly but its a south facing beach so not that bad.

Driving from MEL to BNE tomorrow, stopping over at ABX (lunch), CWT (overnight), DBO and MRZ (overnight)... Any AFF member around to meet up for coffee/lunch/dinner?

See you on the road tomorrow!

I spent my Christmas in Melbourne, shared between all different bits of my family.

Enjoyed a lovely steak and lobster lunch before seeing the Rockettes and heading up to the top of the Empire State Building.

Hot and humid in Brisbane - spent the day with 10 others inside in the air-con. Boxing Day today no different - thermometer proves it!

Still able to access wifi on the trail !

Ha! Not so much. Stranded in Lukla due to flight cancellations (too windy to land). Only place with wi-fi on the trail is Namche Bazaar.

The reason my favorite day of the year is Boxing day - Christmas is another 364 days away.
And, typically the first day Hot Cross Buns make their appearance in Coles/Woolies!

Christmas day for me was spent doing very little. Our family does what a lot of Europeans do and have Christmas on the 24th.

Christmas for me is about my family and spending time with them. My parents are getting on, and I know time is limited so I made a promise when I left home I would always, no matter where I was living anywhere in the world, spend Christmas with them. I left Perth in 2000 and i've kept that promise for 13 years, with no plans to ever break it.

It means I have to spend it in sweltering heat and humidity typically, but this year Perth's weather has been pretty good (although it's still too humid for my taste).

My advice to anyone who hates Christmas: make the most of it with family, you never know what's around the corner, or how much time any of you may have left with each other.
