I always fly row 3, and I don't remember the last time I had someone sitting next to me.
I always fly row 3 and don't remember the last time I DIDN'T have someone sitting next to me!
Albeit mainly golden triangle, but not usually peak times...

Law of averages shows that if a 737 is 2/3 full, *every* middle seat can (potentially) be empty though. Even at 3/4, that's still a lot of empty middle seats.
Agreed. When check-in opens at the airport, it's a free for all. It wouldn't take much to have seats blocked unless it was a full flight, and only allow check-in agents to allocate middle seats, unless a WP requested one via the kiosk or online.Correct, but sadly this doesn't allow for those status fliers who CHOOSE a middle seat near the front, nor the check-in staff who allocate at the slightest request. I had a non member (not even Red status) sat next to me in 3B on Tuesday. Flight was - at a guess - 80% full...
Until the online system is changed and the checkin team re-educated, it ain't gonna change.
You are very lucky. I would be really impressed if you didnt have someone sitting next to you in economy on a full flight.I always fly row 3, and I don't remember the last time I had someone sitting next to me.
Exactly. I am not sure why people are worrying about it.Agreed. When check-in opens at the airport, it's a free for all.
