World's best airlines 2012 | Skytrax awards | Qantas plummets
Qantas is now ranked 15th in the World Airline Awards (was ranked 8th in 2011) while Virgin Australia is ranked 12th (was ranked 32nd in 2011). Virgin Australia also took out the awards for the best airline and best airline staff in the Asia-Pacific region.
The industrial action (and subsequent ground) last year sure has hit Qantas hard. Some good news though with Qantas receiving awards for the best First Class Lounge (Sydney Airport), best premium economy class and best premium economy catering.
