Just wondering -- how much better is WT+ compared to WT on british airways? What would be a fair premium to pay to go up one level?

WT+ is worth the cash IMO. While the food is of the usual economy standard the exrtra room is quite welcome. On the past 3 out of occasions I have travelled on this class I have been upgraded to J, so there is an extra incentive if you are a punter.

Good luck.

I agree that WT+ is definately worth the extra. I haven't had upgrades from WT+ on any flights I have done; my only upgrades have been from WT straight to CW

I have a 50% record in Op upgrades to J from WT+ as well which seems to be a common theme

That is impressive for BA, and matches other reports I have read. But still way below my record on CX .

I agree, WT+ is worth a premium over WT - and BA seem to have specials all the time ex Australia (Eg checkout www.bestflights.com.au for deals as well as the Britishairways.com.au website )

The seats are nice and give more legroom. You also have a footrest. Cabin service is better than WT as well and the staff come around more often.

Foodwise it's the same. However you get earlier dibs over the food so are pretty much guaranteed to get your choice (unless your choice is Caviar or something else from the First/Business menu's :D)

Hmmm, I must be doing something wrong, as usual. Flown WT+ 4 times and only been upgraded once. But I'm off to Singapore (and back) in August in WT+, so perhaps we'll get upgrades then.

That said, I'm getting too old and picky to "make do" with Economy, and am not rich enough to afford J.

Apart from what others have already posted, which is accurate enough, my view of the typical passenger in WT+, is they are middle-aged, middle-class and middle-of-the-road - much like me.

Along with the QP life membership, it makes the trips (and the cost) bearable.

novacatz, definitely worth it. I've used it in the past to SIN, BKK and LHR (from SYD/MEL) as well as LHR/HKG. With the altered QF International upgrade position, QF have almost totally lost me (particularly with better AA earning).

roryg, upgrades are dependent on how many BA Golds, QF Chairmans, QF Plat, BA Silver etc (depending on your status) are onboard as well as you.

I'm running at only 2 upgrades from 6 (and one of those upgrades was my honeymoon).

0/2 from my BA+ flights.

No comment on my CX flights - don't want other WP's flocking to CX and ruining my upgrade chances :D

Looks like I may have upset the upgrade Gods in a past life as I am running 0/6 on BA and none on CX (I have flown them too many times to count) :( .
