The Football World Cup is scheduled to take place in North America in 2026 and I am hoping to attend with my SO and two kids. I've flirted with chasing points in the past but since having kids and changing jobs 4 years ago my travel opportunities have been limited.

I'd like to take the family to the US primarily in 2026 for a holiday and to catch a few games and wanted to determine the optimum method to accumulate and, potentially more importantly, retain a significant number of points. Do our readers have any suggestions for the best program(s) to join and collect to minimise flight and hotel costs while in the US?

Apologies if this is a bit premature but I'm hoping that a steady accumulation of points should make the holiday more affordable.

TIA
