On a closer reading, I think what you did should qualify:
The time of entry will be deemed to be the first time during the Promotion Period that a member chooses to convert Woolworths Dollars to Qantas Points in their Woolworths Rewards account.

This will depend on how rapidly the info is passed through to QF. Instantanous update my not occur so switching out and then straight in might work. Not surprised if it doesn't.

I did the same as sbor90 and did receive an instant confirmation email that "Your redemption settings have been changed".

Personally I hate promos like this.
Chance of winning most likely means nothing for most.

I much prefer promos where you put something in and get something back, and with any luck where there is some skill involved to recall leverage what you get back.


As it stands this seems to be all about maximising what Qantas Points get transferred to Qantas from WR on 15th June. Their deal with WR must a good one from their prospective.

As others have mentioned. I'd already opted for Qantas points many months ago.

When I first saw the promotion online a couple of days ago (before the competition began), I'm pretty sure I clicked a button and registered for the promotion. However, I haven't received any sort of confirmation email. And, of course, now that the competition has started, the page I first saw now looks different.

So, like others, I have changed my redemption option to something else and then back again to, hopefully. qualify me for an entry.

The real value isn't $10 for $2000, it's the promos. I'm currently on a spend $80 for 8 weeks and get $120 back. That's almost 20% off everyday shopping of which I buy most things on special anyway.

Silly that it doesn't clarify eligibility for people who are already registered. I'm not interested in converting to QF points but as far as I can tell I can become eligible by switching over for the next 48 hrs and then switch back?

Stupid Woolies website... Did the double-switch I mentioned and then tonight the register automatically knocks $20 off my shop. Too bad I wanted to dump those points to QFF...

The same thing happened to me, except I didn't actually switch anything on the website (I did load up the page this morning, it said Qantas Points were selected - still had the page open in my browser when I got home after the shop). Went back to the page after the shop, and Qantas Points were still my selected option. Will try to follow this up tomorrow. Not happy!

I've contacted Woolworths Rewards on Facebook, and they've replied with:

Hi cwd, sorry to hear that and thank you for letting us know. We are currently having technical difficulties with members' Qantas rewards preferences and are working to resolve this issue. We will be in touch with you as soon as we have an update about this. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you in the mean time. Thanks

Judging from the FB page, we're not the only ones to have had this problem. They must have borrowed Qantas' work experience IT kid.

Let's hope we get the points back.
