Is it the green prepaid visas than be used for anything online such as bills? Pretty sure the last time this promo came around the green variable cards didn’t earn points but this time it seems they do.

I bought the $100 green "VISA PREPAID" gift card to test whether it would be accepted by the ATO. Sadly it was declined, which is a shame. As the only possible upside I can see to paying tax (aside from society continuing to function) is some bonus Qantas points on the side.

I managed to use a $500 online for health insurance but similar to you for Canberra

The Online Shopping, Luxury, Travel & Explore, Petrol & Auto and Gaming cards are all functionally identical, just with uniquely themed packaging. If one of them works somewhere, the others will as well.
Good to know. I thought that some could only be used at a certain type of vendor based on a classification. Reall good to know actually. Ta!

As a further update, I also tried using the same prepaid card to pay the ATO via the Post Office option and also via Sniip. Both methods also unsuccessful. Post Office clerk said card machine wouldn’t offer “credit” as an option when paying the ATO. Sniip says “the biller does not support this payment method” when adding the prepaid VISA. Seem the ATO really don’t want my prepaid VISA gift cards, I might have to give them some “real” money 😭

Big W will be offering bonus 10% value on Ultimate gift cards and also 20x EDR points on Apple and $50 Uber gift cards from 16 Nov but I don't have a picture of that yet.

As usual, these discounts are less than the 4% that can be obtained elsewhere.

As usual, these discounts are less than the 4% that can be obtained elsewhere.
But that's the case, the 4% if you claim the $10 off with 2000 points. Right?
Surely if your going to use the points on J cabin travel then your gaining more than the 4%, closer to 10% no?

Everyone can attribute their own value to a QANTAS point - depending what you want to use them for. If you just want to use them to buy toasters you’d be better off getting the 4% discount off the purchase price of the gift card rather than build up more points. If, however, you want to build up points for international business class flights then the value of a point soars and it’s worth getting the bonus points.

$50 Uber GCs at big W this week wouldn't allow payment via everyday pay (even with no active gift cards in my account) and as a cherry on top, the points did not post automatically. Another follow up to do :(
