Thought I would post a bit of an insight-we spent a few days around here & it is roughly half-way for a Sydney-Brisbane drive.
We stayed at a B&B at Safety beach-Sea Breeze B&B in a house built in 2016-a separate entry at the front side of the house. Has a combined lounge/kitchen area, separate bathroom & separate bedroom. Lounge-comfortable enough for a couple with some pay tv stations & reliable internet. Large fridge with plenty of breakfast supplies-yoghurt, breads, muffins etc. Old style cooking hob & no dishwasher. Bathroom-shower only but good hot water & pressure. Bedroom-king size bed but to me was very hard. Ceiling fans in lounge & bedroom did a good job. Keep in mind it is a pretty cheap stay (approx $110 a night)
Location- a couple of kms north of Woolgoolga. A short walk through the local streets gets you to the local golf course-cold beers & a decent sparkling but no food other than snacks. A 15 minute walk gets you to the beach & heaps of options to walk north or south.
Food- Woolgoolga has quite a few options. We ordered delivered pizza one night-independent mob who did a good job. Seaview Tavern has a courtesy bus Wed thru the weekend-they picked us up & dropped us off. The food was good pub food & they have trivia on Wed nights
Area around-just north of Coffs Harbour is Sealy Lookout-viewing platform looking over Coffs & south was closed when we were there but still some great views to the north. Further north of Woolgoolga are Corindi Beach & Red Rock-good spots for those looking for a break from fast paced life & has good fishing
