Won't retain QFF Plat - where to?

Hi - what generally happens when you don't retain status? Currently Plat but won't even fly enough for Gold - will it be a double downgrade to *gasp* Silver?

Qantas has a soft downgrade.
So you will drop to Gold next year,
and then Silver the following year,
unless your travel changes again

Also depending on a number of factors (a 3-yr average believed to be the best guide), Qantas has been known to roll status anyway, or ask for travel plans.

You'll get a soft landing into Gold. Depending on how much flying you've been doing over the last 3 years, you may even be comp'd for Plat 1 last time (don't hold your breath for that however).

Thanks. Even receiving Gold status under the required flights/status credits is generous. I'm happy with that.

I've even known SGs who were given a free year of Gold when they didn't requalify.

I've done my 4 x metal flights on Jetstar BUT they were Saver fares and didn't realise until after they don't count. Argh....

For a soft landing the 4~ have never been a requirement.

Similar to japansuki, my flying patterns have - well - grounded this year. I'm currently on 260 SCs with a renewal date of August 31, have no chance of renewing and - as I pretty much scraped in the previous years - unlikely to be comped.

Goodbye Domestic J lounges, Flounges and the WP Line (together with occasional reward openings), welcome the QC and long phone delays. Farewell Elizabeth, Hello Maria (MEL regulars will get that one!)
