Ok ... so the summary of what’s happened here is that there appears to be a fashion at the moment for styling tops for younger women to look like they’re underear, and whoever made the eviction decision on that ‘plane has a different opinion of what’s appropriate to the woman wearing said recently-purchased top.

Meh. It all makes no sense anyway. How come a woman can wear thongs in public without everyone assuming she’s a meth dealer, yet men cannot?

This person used their own money to do what they wanted to do, not what the clothing poIice wanted them to do. Unless TC had a dress code then why was she pulled up? She wasn't a safety risk except maybe to people gawking at her and getting a slap from their partners...

The guy with the singlet in the BNE J lounge is another matter. Doesn't matter if he's hot or not, there is an un-enforced dress code that guests should follow.

Well, given the modes of dress, and lack of washing, at the Nullabor Roadhouse, I think she sets a high standard.

I see nothing wrong with the outfit, and note that the airline later apologised and pointed to their inappropriate clothing policy:

Outside of a footwear requirement, the airline's policy specifies articles of clothing with offensive slogans or images, according to a copy of the policy sent to The Post. Thomas Cook says passengers who wear inappropriate attire "will not be permitted to travel unless a change of clothes is possible".

If those are really the words that are used in the policy, then they screwed up as there are no offensive slogans or images. Companies need to realise their policies need to be accurate. Look at the number of times members of this site have exploited loopholes in poorly written T&C to get bonus points.

There was a similar incident involving dress standards on Jetstar over a woman wearing a top which revealved a bare midriff which wasn't as skimpy as the one worn in the Thomas Cook incident.

Reading between the lines it sounds like there may have been a couple of other factors at play with comments such as "On Facebook, Shoshana Strykert claims she was trying to get to her sick mother in hospital on February 8 and had already been delayed five hours after a mix up with her Gold Coast flight" and "Strykert says she boarded the plane "tired and stressed out" and was then approached by Jetstar cabin crew."

Sometimes in these type of incidents the pax has been the instigator of a situation by being rude to the crew however that part is sugar coated of course by the media so the argument is weighted very much on the side of the pax. If that was the case, what was said to her by the F/A could have been a return of serve and might not have been said in the first place had the pax not started the exchange.

That is purely speculative of course.

I don’t mind what people wear most of the time....and this outfit is certainly a lot easier to look at than the low slung muffin top jeans with whale tail and tramp stamp on display from 10 or 12 years ago.

In summary, I’d say there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this girls outfit.

Last night in BKK TG Au lounge was a certainly a bit different than the normal visit. I suppose the crocs have become stylish, certainly with the green socks! The dress code is certainly "loose". But three chairs down was a woman "expressing" for her child. Certainly something I've not come across in an open lounge, but have no personal problem with the action, but a few others certainly did.

I'm all for respectable dress codes and would prefer to increase general standards, but if such a policy wasn't advertised by Thomas Cook then the decision is quite harsh and unfair.

If I was sensitive to other's dress then no doubt that would bring clashes, and what a miserable way to live life....
