Wohoo - new 50% Bonus SC Offer

Got the 50% bonus offer last month and registered even though I had nothing on hand to book. The confirmation page was a bit strange as the start and end dates were blank, but a call to Qantas confirmed the very limited dates. Sure enough - I booked nothing during the offer and was resigned to missing out on the bonus. So imagine my surprise when 4 flights have somehow qualified for the 50% SC bonus. I hope they don't change their minds later as it could make the difference in my struggle to maintain SG this year.
Sounds like the work experience IT team are back from school holidays.

Didn't get anything, just had to book a flight today :(

To be fair the "early" flight was one I had booked on the same day as the offer came out (about 8 hours before the email arrived). I thought these things only came into play once you had pulled the trigger on the offer, but it seems that registration at any time during the offer period is OK in this case.

More surprising was the 50% bonus I received on flights booked 2 days after the offer was supposed to have expired. It could be an IT glitch but there is also the possibility of a deliberate grace period due to the bug with the date confirmation I mentioned before.

In any case I was expecting nothing and instead was credited with 25 bonus SC, so I'm not complaining ..

I got one too. Does anyone know if there are issues when using a voucher? Will it go off the date the voucher was purchased or the actual date of booking?
The date of the voucher will more than likely be used but you should be able to successfully argue date of booking without hassle.

To those who have taken advantage of this type of offer before, did the bonus status credits post at the same time as the normal credits, or only later? I'm relying on this offer to retain Gold and need all the credits to post before the end of my membership year.

T&Cs say allow up to 6 weeks, but they'll be back-dated when they do post.

Isn't this usually for points, not status credits? I don't see this wording in my offer email.

Was hanging on waiting for this little beauty to arrive before my next booking

Dunno what to say, did you actually read it? :)

Bonus Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account

Doh!

So if my eligible flights are on 1 and 2 August and my membership year ends on 31 August I shouldn't rely on this offer as the bonus status credits may not post to my account in time? Or will they backdate those in the new year? I just want to make sure I retain Gold.

They should be back-dated, but you might have to suffer a drop to Silver in the short-term :)

I flew an eligible flight on 27 June my normal status credits were credited on the 28th and my 50% bonus was credited today.

Flew QF codeshare on EK on 26/6 with regular points posting on the 29/6 and bonus points on 30/6....well the dates I checked and reflects the posting date on the website.
Regarding the back dating, yes they do back date to the flight date, your status should not drop automatically and the first of the month anyway as there is about a week or two where it maintains the old status IME.
