A heap of airlines have 4hr check in times now at BKK and I’m certain that QR are on that list. QR lounge is only open 4hrs before their own flights I think too, lounge isn’t open all day. Regarding mobile BP’s I think I read somewhere recently that they now accept them
 
Depends whether you are on the 7.25 or8.40 evening flights. If on the 8.40 flight you could check in 1.30 hours earlier than the normal 3 or 4 hours before that check in opens.
 
This is embarrassing. On reading drron's reply and thinking 'my flight time is neither of those', it dawned on me that i'm actually flying Finnair not QR! I booked some time ago and have been fixated on the QR lounge. In the process I've somehow conflated the lounge with the carrier. Apologies all - I'll take this to the Other Airline's forum. The responses have been very helpful (eg, Finnair also opens checkin 4hrs before)
