Hi All
Just a general question.
I very rarely see any wines from the USA available for sale in Australia.
Does anybody know of a retailer that does have a good selection?
If not does anyone know why we don’t get many to choose from here? Is it just too expensive to import or is there a general lack of interest

Curious to hear other’s thoughts as I genuinely enjoy a lot of the West Coast wines.

I also enjoy some nice west coasters - particularly Russian River Zins!

Just looked up Hobart's 'specialty' wine place and it had a single zinfandel from Oregon, but did have a number of South American wines.

I dare say the exchange rate has a lot to do with the lack of USA wines, plus their styles are comparable to Australia's (as opposed to much of Europe etc).

Don't forget about the East Coast whites too. I've had a few good Long Island Rieslings over the years - although they are hard enough to get in the US. They have all sorts of weird licensing laws, which limits how/where you buy the same wines in different states, including mail order

I tend to stick to the iced teas from that region
