Currently sat in the MEL J lounge and watching them set out the Island dining (been going for four weeks I heard).

There certainly seems to be a bit of a buzz in the lounge from the QF people. The pizza is flowing faster than normal (although the chilling sprinkles are annoying) and the QF team here seem to be really making an effort.

The lounge is fairly packed though but something feels different....

Any pancake makers yet?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They're celebrating AJ's pay deal.

Or maybe they are trying to improve the customer experience... but hey lets bitca and moan about CEO pay because we don't have enough threads on that already.

I felt it last week as well. I complimented them on the new coffee and was surprised to get both a smile and that many people had said it. Perhaps its just the coffee talking....

Competition is good isn't it :)

Wtf

Sent from my iphone and AFF app :)

I've found the FAs on domestic flights in a better mood and generally friendlier in the last month.
Also probably cheered up by the CEO's pay packet.

Yeah the workers do like it when the boss has cut in his base pay. That was to what you were referring - not some spurious beat up based on performance targets and long service leave kicking in are you?

Me too. Thought I was just imagining it (or been lucky) but interesting to note others have noticed too.

Wonder if they've brought a batch up from JQ (I assume that's the career-step these days?) and moved an old jaded bunch out.

Hrmmm QFLink flight next week and QF the week after... Doing a mini QP and QF J club tour DRW, ASP (which is an awesome QP - free pour spirits), SYD J, MEL J, CBR J...

Back again in the MEL J lounge - seeing that the barista is making coffee - is this another change? I thought the coffee service was only in the mornings? This looks like a proper barista as well.

Just overheard that this is now on until 3 pm.

No winds of change for me today. The AKL QP didn't open until 4:12 AM today with 11 people waiting at the door for the 4:00 AM opening. No apology or reason given. The two coffee machines were out of order in the SYD J lounge at the same time, and the crew on my SYD-MEL flight were about as giggly and unprofessional as I have seen with QF in twelve years.

Admittedly the barista service with two staff working it was OK in the SYD J lounge, but most definitely neither staff I would call a proper barista.

On the good side there was an attempt at priority boarding in SYD with J and WP's called ahead of the crowd. :) (I was so shocked I don't even recall if SG's were called.) On the bad side it was not enforced so pretty much everyone joined the line. :-|
