Our flight from San Francisco is scheduled to arrive at 8.40 am Sunday March 27 next year. I have booked an 11.30am domestic flight to Rockhampton via Brisbane.
Will customs and immigration checks at Sydney make a stressful few hours or should I change the time to a later flight?
Your thoughts will help me make a decision.
Thanks in advance
Kinka

Getting from Sydney International to Sydney Domestic can sometimes be a hassle.
I'd say you have left enough time, providing your outbound flight out of SFO leaves on time.

Leaving 2:50 hours connection from SYD International to Domestic should be more than enough assuming there are no serious delays with incoming flight.

Can only concur with the other posters. I am very conservative with connections, but would have no problem with this one.

Though, are both flights on the one booking?

I'll echo what others have said, is the two flights on the one booking? If so your safe no matter what.

Even if they are not, I've make connections far tighter than this from SFO to SYD flights. I'll usually book a flight which leaves around 2.5 hours after I arrive and I'll usually be bumped onto a much earlier flight. (My best effort was a transfer int - dom in 50 minutes)

I consider this safe.
Even if not on same ticket, QF transfer desk will usually look after you in these circumstances.

You will be fine. Whilst the bus transfer on QF is not fun, it does run every 10 mins AM. I usually plan 2 hours minimum between and have never missed my flight.

If the OP is flying with QF!

It should be fine regardless, 3 hours is a good margin.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. They are both QF flights, though not on the same booking.
Is there a Qantas bus that can take you to the domestic terminal? I am not aware of this?
How does one organise seats for this service?
Thanks again
