UA website states that 839 tonight is wifi enabled. Has anyone used it, at what cost and how fast/efficient is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Its satellite based so very slow, believe its around USD$20 per segment.

$16.99USD for the LAX to SYD leg. So far - 1 hour into the flight - the connection speed isn't too bad and apps like FB, AFF, Instagram, Twitter and web browsing on Safari are reasonably quick and very stable.

I guess they'd frown on you setting up a wireless hotspot on the plane and sharing the connection..

That was my experience when I used it TPAC a few months ago. In fact the connection was about the only thing 'fast' about the on-board services!

That's more than reasonable. Data cap?
