Is anyone finding Wifi to be really slow in lounges at the moment? I've always found it questionable during peak times, which is annoying but understandable, however recently I've been finding it really slow during off-peak periods too. I've found Perth to be the worst, which I hope will be improving when (?if) the new terminal opens. I've given up on trying to use the downloadable magazine service. 45 minutes per paper isn't really cutting it at the moment.

Definitely - I was in the CNS lounge yesterday and thought I'd quickly download a 20MB game for my iPad. 20 minutes later, still only about a third downloaded so I just tethered it to my phone to get it.

Yes Perth is by far the worst. All the other lounges are okay, all dependent on numbers on the network I suppose.

Of the lounges I frequent (MEL, BNE, OOL) I've always found the wifi to be pretty good, even during peak times.

I was about to say in CNS we were the only ones in there, but at the time there were probably... 20, 25 people in there. We were the only ones for such a long time. Should have tried then.

No problems a few weeks back in Adelaide. Especially useful as our flight got delayed.. Twice.

I was in the SYD lounge a couple of weeks ago (around Tues lunchtime) - Wifi slow, kept dropping out, had to keep logging back in but seemed impossible to hold a connection for more than a few minutes. Back in the same lounge the following Tuesday AM, downstairs very crowded and the reception desk mentioned the upstairs section was open so I headed up there - only 2 other pax there! They closed the upstairs area about 45 minutes later as no one else had come up and the other two pax had left, but told me I was welcome to stay as long as I wished. Wifi was going like a rocket, no connection problems at all. Eventually went to gate but flight delayed for two hours, back to lounge (had to sit downstairs this time, dammit LOL) which was reasonably busy but Wifi was working fine.

Completely agree. Was in the Perth lounge yesterday and the wifi was absolutely hopeless. Took over a minute just to load Google home page. Disconnected and reconnected a few times which didn't help. Gave up and just used my phone as a hotspot.

This. Telstra data is now $10/gig, can't be bothered trying to use free WiFi. By the time someone else messes about trying to get connected, I've already synced email, Dropbox and ready to go.

I don't bother using wifi in the lounge anymore with the Telstra $10/GB.

Never really had a problem with lounge wifi. I'm constantly using the syd, bne and mel lounges. It's good enough to stream Netflix and Youtube for me, only issue is that sometimes it takes a while to connect.

In SYD lounge Sunday afternoon. Wifi extremely slow. Has been like that for a while.

I've not noticed any difference, until today... It's taken me 25 minutes to load AFF in the SYD lounge.

This morning I was attempting to partake in a Teams discussion using the Lounge WiFi in MEL but was failing miserably.

I fired up ookla and:
