Why JetStar

Second time now booked Plus bundle and was denied the $5 inflight voucher because the right code didn't show up on my ticket. Trying to explain the rules to FAs proved to be pointless and both times I was told only Max bundle gets the voucher, which is clearly not true.
It's a small issue but when added to other small issues it's creating a bad reputation for the airline. Problem is their customer service is so bad there is no point calling them, they just don't care.

You might have more luck sending a pm to the JQ mob via their FB page as they should be able to verify you've paid for the voucher.

Good advise, forgot about the FB page.
At least I got the correct points and SCs.

Earlier in this thread I made mention of the lack of a lift at BNE airport for Jetstar passengers whose aircraft park in stand off locations away from the terminal building. Arriving JQ pax must climb a flight of very steep stairs and departing pax must clamber down these stairs. No thought is given to elderly passengers or those with a disability or those with young children and a considerable amount of necessary carry on baggage..

It cannot be argued that because Jetstar is a LCC they can avoid provisions that other airlines must adhere to.

As far as BNE airport is concerned their policy amounts to two paragraphs in their 46 page Disability Access Plan and here is the relevant extract:

Aerobridges are not provided to all aircraft parking
positions or those provided may be temporarily
unavailable. Where aerobridges are not available
passengers are required to descend stairs from
the upper level of the terminal to the ground level
apron area.
Lifts are available from the terminal boarding lounge
to the apron level but they can only be accessed by
airline staff. Passengers who are unable to access
stairs must make this known to the airline at the time
of booking so that access via the lifts can be arranged
if necessary.

Maybe they can send you a couple of muffins in the post. :sly:

Haha their Banana muffins are pretty good.
But seriously it's about enforcing the T&Cs, something JQ is known to be VERY strict about when it suits their needs. In my case, not only I didn't get something I deserve, on top of that I was also given the same wrong information by the FAs, twice!

There's much in what you say, and I count myself one of those small few.At the same time I woder if $A350 a month is not pretty good pay for a Thai?

Depends how you want to look at "ancient awards". Jetstar employ cabin crew based out of Thailand who earn about $350 per month. They fly 14 day trips together and have to share hotel rooms on minimum rest stops. This includes operations on Australian domestic services.

They've certainly worked well at reducing the quality of life of Australians and continued our race to the bottom. Some call it "reducing costs", I'd call it slave labour.

Then again, I'm one of a small few who is happy to pay extra to ensure we all receive the benefits of working in a country where we are fairly paid and can live a great life.

Admirable sentiment. However too many of your co citizens don't think the same. They shop in Target, Big W and Kmart for clothes.
They buy cheap cars at the expense of Ford and Holden.
They don't want a GST on food, but happily buy cheap Thai / Chinese etc frozen veg and fish! They want cheap prices and high wages.
Are you seeing a pattern here?

I love Jetstar ....... regardless of all the bad names (OneStar, Death Star, Orange Cancer etc) people can throw at it ;)

I am very grateful for Jetstar; have been able to visit the QF F lounge multiple times on SYD-MEL-SYD runs, they flew me to HNL four times with them over the past six years, took me to other destinations in the same period of time that include DPS,HKT,KIX,NAN,AKL and various 3K destinations too.

Keep 'em coming Jetstar. I am still waiting for them to open up new routes and destinations. Hopefully after QF's big 27/02 announcement that they will aquire a few A380's and get rights to fly straight to LAS. That is a perfect route in my opinion for those leisure travellers.

My love for Jet Star continues. I flew into Honolulu just six days ago and although they cancelled my SYD-HNL flight around 26 hours before departure I was able to re-route via BNE to ensure that I landed roughly the same time. My quick six day visit is over and now I am currently in the UA Club right now, flying out with OZ to ICN then BKI for a friend's wedding. OZ231/OZ757 to ICN/BKI.

And 13 months on, and I still might be waiting a fair bit more longer, that JQ launches direct flights to LAS ;) Doubt they would be flying that service when I elope in Las Vegas in four months time - how time flies!

Really happy with JQ checkin desk at Avalon,

Most of the staff know me by now as I fly every week or every second week with JQ, often alternating with QF to SYD (and Am WP)

Asked if any further forward seats were available even though I had checked in and was in in 9B

Response was you're already quite forward, but is 1C forward enough for you.

Thanks very much.... Best seat on the plane! :)
