Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

I spoke with the MyCard call centre today and they said I will definitely be charged the Premier $199 annual fee. My anniversary is March, and I was not charged the fee in March, but she assured me I will be charged in March next year. Has anyone with the Citi FFFL actually been charged their annual fee for this card yet? The online chat staff said the company still has not made a decision regarding ongoing fees. The call centre staff were certain there would be a fee. I guess I wait until March next year to see what happens...

Not yet - but us FFFLers are probably a fairly rare breed these days.

I suspect the system probably shows a fee with some override in the back end to prevent it from actually being charged. Hence I wouldn't worry unless you do get charged.

Stop calling them! FFS. All you are doing is flagging this for them to review, instead of sailing below the radar.

Imagine you got stopped by a cop for speeding. After the cop return your licence, saying to you don't speed again, then they walk away; but instead of driving away, you get out of your car and chase the cop down, then say to them "So are you going to give me a ticket?"

Stop. Just stop

If this is bugging you so much that you can't keep quiet, then please get into the cop car, and beg them to write you an infringement notice. At least you would be sure that you really are going to have to pay a fine.

I mean just cancel your card and move on.

Don't ruin this for everyone else.

I wouldn't be concerned with what staff are telling you, especially when it's as contradictory as this. I doubt they're authorised to let the cat out of the bag so they probably don't have the full details of your FFFL arrangement.

If a fee for this card makes it untenable for you, just remove all doubt and anxiety and just cancel it now. You are in precisely the same situation before you wasted your time calling.

Yes, but some of us would like to know for planning to use the 2 x Priority Pass. They are not something you can just go out and use, it requires forward planning
What? Just turn up and show the card. Either pay the annual fee, if it ever gets charged, then use the two passes, or cancel (ie don't pay the annual fee) and buy a PP or get a Amex Plat. All this angst to save $72! Seriously.

If lounge access is so important, and I think I need to cancel this card (say I'm playing the churn game), I would just apply for another card which comes with PP included (and pay the annual fee)

But if I were to apply for a new card for PP, I would have to pay annual fee. Hence, I would still have to pay an annual fee, regardless if I were to keep Citi or not.

If one is only visiting the lounge when it's free, then clearly they don't value / need the lounge that much.
