How many other Tasmanians are out there? How often do you fly? Are you a Hobartian?

I live in Tassie ten days a month. Rest of the time i live in Western Australia.
Wife and kids live in tassie during the school terms, WA during the Hols.

Tassie is fine for recreation, great for the kids but $ for work are just pathetic. So YES i do like visiting.

Hi jusoalli

Fellow Tasmanian here, lived here for about 6 years. Not hobartian, but an hour out. I fly.....a lot! Usually out of Hobart every week, or sometimes get a full week at home, hit Platium + partner Platinum with 4 months still to go in my membership year.

I agree .....there are just not the dollars in Tasmania! A pity, as there are other benefits to living here.

Again not a Tasmanian but frequently work in the North West-12 months out of the last 3 years. And as I can choose where I work yes I love the place.

Yeah I had thought that it wasn't great $ wise. My father works offshore on a rig out in the Indian so he is back and forth every few weeks which can be dodgy sometimes, Karratha to HBA is a good SC earner though! Am looking forward to heading out of Tassie soon though, would like to find work on the mainland instead.

Agree likewise. I can choose and i have chosen tassie and enjoy my time there. A good commute from Melbourne as well

Hi, I'm 30mins out of Hobart. Fly internationally J a couple of times a year, and domestically 5-6 times. Love living here, the only downside is waiting for that last flight to Hobart after flying back into Aust. QF don't serve us well here and am giving DJ a try. Looking forward to the DJ lounge opening in Hobart in Sept.

I grew up in a small town just out of Penguin called Sulphur Creek.

I now live in Kalgoorlie and have been here for around 15 years. I miss Tassie and do try to get there every few years.. But like kalboy and others have said, there are limited opportunitys there...

Cheers.

Your kidding.. I knew you lived in Kal too but didn't know u were from Sulpher City. I grew up in Penguin went to Marist in Burnie. Small world..

No must be related jokes please.

Originally from Tas, I think my fave flight in Aus (big call) is the QFLink Q400 flight LST-MEL. Short and sharp but over the bass strait so always guaranteed to be a bit of a rollercoaster which I love!

Love the DPO run as well on the Q400.

Not a roller coaster in my experience. Always quite smooth, what am I missing?

I always seem to get complimentary wine on the Q400 across the straight. Is that normal.? Heading there on Tuesday on Virgin though.
