So tomorrow we fly.. it is at least 4 years since we left our fair shore and the time has come.
The trip is a simple 11 day loop ex Tokyo around Fukuoka Island, Japan
Our ship is SilverSea Silver Whisper, on of the older and smaller vessels in the fleet with lower passenger
numbers compared to the new ships in the fleet.
We are door to door for this trip (as I could not match SS buying power with the 'roo) ..and hoping all the promised transfers run as promised.
I am not expecting to have much excitement to report but will try to add some colour.
Loading on the "anything but" airline with broken seats and dodgy food tomorrow will be the first test

After a functional transfer (thats just one tick silversea !) we are entertaining ourselves in the lounge with our toys, 2 new i phones.
This is the first time in history I have gone anywhere os without a dedicated camera, early days I missed some wonderful stuff in Zimbabwe with a young family …..glued to a super 8 camera viewfinder.. all those hard won reels are buried away somewhere and are of no value at all really.
Later equestrian event journalism required a long reach camera and enough computer power to share stuff with the world… all that fancy stuff is now really just landfill..
The 15 Pro Max camera has 5x (about 120mm in real photography) of zoom and so far is taking spectacular snaps with little user input.
We shall see….

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Safe travels! I'm already thinking about the next Japan trip, so following along closely.
Japan is addictive, isn't it! We have been there 6 times already and have/had another trip booked for Jan/Feb 24 - which will now probably be postponed due to my surprise leukaemia diagnosis. So many interesting places to go!

We were planning to tour Kyushu after skiing, so will also follow along for ideas. Thanks for the report @tgh

Make sure you turn on Live option on your camera app. That allows it to take several pre and post 'snaps' of your picture then you can edit and scroll along and find and select the best frame of the photo you took. The results can be surprising especially when taking shots of moving objects.
