I flew from WLG to HLZ with Air NZ domestic on 8 May.
I would to make a whinge about the WLG check in/ground staff that day. I had a bag I have taken on as carry on luggage with no problems previously, including Air NZ in Sept 09.*
I also had a booking done by Flight Centre as a Galileo confirmation which did not stipulate how many pieces of luggage I could take and only showed the weight. The staff were very rude and said I should of known this and I had to pay the 15 dollars for the extra baggage or they threatened to offload me.
I refused to pay the amount as I was not letting my Camera Equipment totalling nearly AU$5000 run the risk of being damaged in the luggage hold as I needed to use it later that night.
The staff did not want to see the booking and where the error was, I then was told off by the manager who literally told me that Qantas, Jetstar, Pacific Blue had the same check in procedures (for the QF travellers I was under the understanding of 2 pieces of carry on luggage) and I was shooed off to the gate saying you will be offloaded as the gate staff won't board you.
I then questioned the gate staff who the girl was very helpful and understanding and said it should be fine, but since another person took over her duties when I went to board the plane I had the same problem getting onto the plane and tried to lecture me, and held up the other passengers, again having to show her the booking again and outline the error several times to her before she let me on.
