I flew from WLG to HLZ with Air NZ domestic on 8 May.
I would to make a whinge about the WLG check in/ground staff that day. I had a bag I have taken on as carry on luggage with no problems previously, including Air NZ in Sept 09.*

I also had a booking done by Flight Centre as a Galileo confirmation which did not stipulate how many pieces of luggage I could take and only showed the weight. The staff were very rude and said I should of known this and I had to pay the 15 dollars for the extra baggage or they threatened to offload me.

I refused to pay the amount as I was not letting my Camera Equipment totalling nearly AU$5000 run the risk of being damaged in the luggage hold as I needed to use it later that night.

The staff did not want to see the booking and where the error was, I then was told off by the manager who literally told me that Qantas, Jetstar, Pacific Blue had the same check in procedures (for the QF travellers I was under the understanding of 2 pieces of carry on luggage) and I was shooed off to the gate saying you will be offloaded as the gate staff won't board you.

I then questioned the gate staff who the girl was very helpful and understanding and said it should be fine, but since another person took over her duties when I went to board the plane I had the same problem getting onto the plane and tried to lecture me, and held up the other passengers, again having to show her the booking again and outline the error several times to her before she let me on.

I am constantly amazed about supposedly intelligent people who whinge and moan about being caught out trying to break the rules. You know very well what the limits are - grow up and stop acting like a big goose!!!

Hmmmm seems like in this case Flight Centre didn't give the full picture, looks like theyre in the wrong. Seems like you were lucky to be boarded considering gate staff were in the right...

As I said, It was camera equipment bag (that looks like a backpack) and a very small handbag that's probably more a clutch that has my personal details and wallet. As it says on the website, personal effects to that nature (including cameras!) was accepted on board.*

I wasn't*running the risk of camera equipment totalling approx $5000 being damaged/lost in transit. Plus the equipment was within the limits as it was under 7kgs (5.7kgs) and within measurements.**

Yes flight centre were at fault. I have since complained to both parties with nil response. That was nearly a month ago, again poor service to how a complaint is handled!

Poor customer service by Air NZ staff as they refused to even look at the booking fault when i showed it to them countless times and clearly their solution to everyone with too much luggage is to offload.**

Irrespective of the merits of the situation (I do tend to have some sympathy with the OP's situation), I think your post is rather rude.

Perhaps you don't fly very much.
