Do any of them ? Which flight numbers ?

Looking to use either AA miles or QF points and wanted the most comfortable J experience. I heard they were rolling out "international" catering into SYD/MEL to PER flights, is this already happening or only on specific flights ?

At the very least I'm looking to avoid those flights with 7 across with the middle seat blocked off to be used as a "work space".

Any thoughts and comments appreciated.

Thanks

Due to schedule changes and aircraft availability the question is a bit too broad to be answered specifically. For a specific flight if expert flyer shows row 23 of economy as an exit row (or the other way to look at is if the first row of the centre row of economy is row 25) then it is a non sky bed A330. All other configurations of A330 have skybeds

You can also take a look over on the Qantas Source The QANTAS Source | and go to the Qantas Tracker to see the history of aircraft/flights/routes.

MEL-PER for example, for June 2014 was:

100 flights operated by non-skybed A330s
86 flights operated by skybed A330s

The operating A330 aircraft:
A330-300 30J/267Y AB-EF-JK with skybeds
A330-200 36J/199Y AB-EF-JK with skybeds
A330-200 36J/265Y AB-DF-JK without skybeds
A330-200 42J/268Y AB-DF-JK without skybeds but has the 'workspace' between D and F seats.

It's a lottery until you get on board. Flights like the 772/773 seem to get the skybeds more often than not but as there are only 4 332's with skybeds, and the rest without (the 333's are an exception as they normally don't do the domestic runs), I'd be looking at the patterns and book from there. Saying that it may or may not change.

Thanks. Is there any way of knowing exactly which aircraft it will be before making the booking ?
Or other ways to put the odds in my favour eg. skybeds are usually for weekday evenings, etc or something like that ?

Thanks, that's precisely the type of insight I was looking for. Cheers.

Out of how many ?
About 20 in the fleet ?

The A330 numbers, from The Qantas Source:

10 x A330-300 30J/267Y AB-EF-JK with skybeds

04 x A330-200 36J/199Y AB-EF-JK with skybeds
03 x A330-200 36J/265Y AB-DF-JK without skybeds
06 x A330-200 42J/268Y AB-DF-JK without skybeds but has the 'workspace' between D and F seats.

Those numbers aren't quite correct. I am sure it is only EBM/EBN with the 36J/265Y product, with EBB currently being converted into QF spec. It has the old QF Domestic/JQ Star Class product on board from memory.

Ahhh, so The Qantas Source is a little bit wrong? Here it is then for the A330-200s:

It is quoting EBB is 36J/265Y, which may or may not have had 38J (2D isn't half bad), 265Y. I have not heard as to what config it will come back with from BNE.
