My partner is Qantas club member & we are travelling in J on an award flight. We will be departing Bangkok on Finnair at 11.50am.
Any suggestions as to the best lounge to use?

The QF/BA lounge wouldn't be open. Flying oneworld in J means you have a choice of either the CX or JL lounges, on top of any contract lounge that AY uses at BKK.

For those familiar with BKK airport I'd appreciate some information on the lounges that are located in the same terminal/concourse as BA flights (specifically BA9 to Sydney). The oneworld website lists all the lounges but being unfamiliar with the airport I don't know which ones I'll be able to visit (by virtue of their location).

We did this flight (BA9) back in Feb 08 and were lucky to be checked in 4 hours before (my sister was "very polite" with the QF check-in lady who booked us in). If my memory serves me correctly you need to go to the top escalator on Departures level and there are 2 lounges - the CX First lounge on the left and QF/BA on the right (at the end of the corridoor) Beautiful lounge with over 20 PC's, 6 showers and better food than the standard "fare" at QClub. When we first landed at Concourse G with QF it took close to 25 minutes to get to Customs - this joints huge!!!!!!!... makes Sydney airport look like an outdoor dunny!
By the way - its pronounced "su-wan-na-poom".

When you get to Concourse G take the escalator down one level and walk towards gates G1-G5. Before reaching security on the left hand side you will the find first the CX lounge and then the QF/BA F lounge and directly opposite is the QF/BA J lounge. It is only a short walk to the lounges once down the escalator.

Note these lounges fill up very quickly from ~3:00pm.

QF Flounge is the best if you can get access. The QF J lounge is also good. Both have showers. The CX lounge (combined F/J) has no showers. CX can be quieter than the QF lounges. No idea about JL's offering.

I arrived into BKK a short time ago on BA10 and was pleasantly surprised that I can access the QF/BA lounge (ie. arrivals and departures aren't separated).
