I am organising a work conference in Hobart. Usually I would have booked a Marriott property, but being Hobart there isn't one there (yet).

What's your go-to hotel in Hobart to maximise points / earn? Cheers

Very difficult in Hobart at the moment. There is an Ibis Styles - which is very central and pretty nice.

Better to not worry about the chains, and have a look at a Federal Hotel: Federal Group Maq1, or Henry Jones Art Hotel for tyle and comfort (and $$$$ !)

There's also the Grand Chancellor on the docks (probably the best choice for a decent, central 'work' hotel. Also MONA out at Berridale for something different.

++++1 for Grand Chancellor. I have stayed there a few times for work and it is still the best hotel for the price. Get the harbour view room if possible, beautiful view of the bay in the morning.

I’ve stayed in multiple places in Hobart. Stayed in Harbour view room at Grand Chancellor. That view was beautiful, foods great, particularly the buffet breakfast.

I didn't stay at the Best Western, Bathurst street, attended a conference there, but the catering was outstanding. I am a Coeliac Vegetarian and they catered for me very well. If food is an important option.

We stayed at the Grand Chancellor and super happy with the location and staff. Room was very comfortable and we had a harbour view.

Didnt have breafast there as we would wander across the road to waterfront cafes for breakie but so easy to get around from this location and lots of choices for dinner ect. Would stay again.

Across the road, tiny hole in the wall Chinese restaurant - the food was wonderful. We were there on a symphony performance night and the place was full of regulars, staff knew peoples names, lots of chinese people as well and a line up outside. We managed to get in and the food was wonderful AWU delicious food – taste wonderful Chinese foods

If money is no concern, I recommend the Islington in South Hobart, Henry Jones, or MAC 1. If you want cheap but hip and friendly, try the Alabama Hotel on Liverpool. Every room is decorated by a different local artist. They’re not chains with points and the like, but Hobart doesn’t have many of those.
