Where to stay in HKG

I have stayed at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong many times, and it is one of my favourite hotels. It is located above Pacific Place, which is a major shopping centre with lots of shops, eating places, and cinemas. It is not a long walk undercover to Admiralty MTR station, and then you can go just about anywhere in Hong Kong.
I would recommend if you find a price within your budget.

I always prefer to stay on the Island, preferrably in Central.

Last trip, I stayed at the Hotel LKF. I booked it on Agoda or wotif (don't remember which) and got a good rate - around mid $300s a night. Great hotel and great location.

cheers

It is my favourite hotel in the world. Watching the eagles/falcons swooping with a mountain view - spectacular. And my little chap knows how to make a decent G+T ;)

Pity the forum was down yesterday, or those last few posts would have helped me convince my mate to stay at the Conrad. As it is we've booked the IC Grand Stanford following the suggestion of one poster.

Thanks for all the advice and help guys. Next- anyone have experience with places to stay in Reykjavik?

This trip is turning into a hodge-podge of hotel groups. Hyatt Regency Tokyo, Sheraton Park Lane London and now IC HKG. Just got Iceland to go...

Thanks, Jon

IC Grand Stanford is in Kowloon which isn't in walking distance to Central (LKF/SoHo nightlife)... I'm not familiar with Kowloon but perhaps it might be near TST nightlife. Oh well, taxis are cheap anyway.

And please have a martini or 5 at Felix for me! :D (i think they have a minimum spend of HKD200)

Stayed at Langham Place in Mongkok in July. Paid AUD$240 per night booked well in advance on their site. Great place, staff will go out of their way to help. Iced towel at reception was welcome as it was close to 40c outside. Room fantastic and of course the famous clear glass bathroom wall allows you to soak in the tub while you watch the Plasma TV in the bedroom.

Just outside is some great shopping and the night markets, one block from the MTR station which will link you to anywhere in HK.

Might bump into some lovely trolley dollies there too. ;)
