Where’s Mrs Rugby’s iPhone (VH-QPA) now?

From AKL airport website. I assume these redirect to the QF contact centre, but worth a try just in case:
09 357 8900
0800 808 767

Or this:
Auckland Office Contact Information

Tel: 0800 808 767

Office hours: 24 hours (daily)

Baggage Services

Tel: +64 0 9256 8359

Airport Name: Auckland Airport

Thanks - do you have an Australian number I can call from overseas? (The 1300 won’t work from NZ and the plane will shortly head back to SYD as QF146)

There's an AKL number at the bottom of the screenshot?

Try SYD airport?
Done that one - you basically have to leave a message with details of the lost item and flight etc. It says it’s domestic only, but I left the details anyway. How often they check the messagebank is anyones guess.

By the time the iPhone flys back into SYD this afternoon it will have racked up 600 status credits in 3 days - almost qualified Gold.
What about 20min after it lands, just make the phone ring for a long time.
Someone will hear it then.

If it really is a possible flight safety matter (and we are told often enough that if in the seat mechanics it can be) could calling the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) be appropriate? Or is that overkill? (I don't know...)

Some positive news - it seems some AUS FF forum angels have provided some assistance and the phone has been retrieved from QF146 in SYD when it landed this afternoon. I received a phone call from a very helpful QF staffer, on said phone, who is taking it to international baggage services. So hopefully we’ll grab in when we land back in SYD next week.

Thank you to the angels and everyone else for their suggestions and help. So stay tuned for a happy ending and I’m glad the phone only made it to silver status and not P1 :)

Mrs Rugby left an iPhone on our SYD-AKL QF143 flight yesterday. We’re assuming it fell into the J seat 3E. We’re tracking it while the battery still lasts and it went back to SYD then flew to HNL and is now back in SYD. We‘ve logged all the relevant lost baggage claims etc with Qantas but can’t get anyone to just go down and get it 😀 We saw it was back at T1 tonight and rang the SYD Flounge to see if they could do anything - no joy. Where will it go tomorrow? 😀
So you called an airside lounge, told them the plane and seat number, would have been a 10 minute walk for someone who was there, and they wouldn’t help. Disappointing.
