Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere.

Does anyone know at what point a booked fare becomes a 'no show' for the purpose of a refund request/cancellation? (i.e is it 24hrs before departure, after check in open time, at actual departure time, etc) I've tired looking this up but the Qantas website is rather vague.

Looking at the fare conditions for an international saver economy fare, it says

"Cancellation (including no show)
Before and after departure

  • A cancellation fee of A $200 per person applies (no charge for infant paying 10% of the fare) .Except if upgraded to a higher fare.
  • Cancellation after no show A$500 per person applies"

I guess a no show cannot be declared until the airline is certain you are not going to board. So when virtual and physical checkin close?
