was looking for a flight PER/MEL & was surprised to see A320s & F100s on PER/MEL nonstops & PER/ADL/MEL flights. Thought these aircraft were only used ex PER for mainly Fifo.

Haven't seen them on the nonstops, but they've been doing PER/ADL/MEL for a while.

It’s not a Melbourne-Perth direct flight, it goes via Kalgoorlie. I think the flight to Melbourne is on a Friday and comes back on a Sunday. Whilst on the East coast it will do a number of Melbourne - Adelaide services.
Perth - Adelaide has been going for about 18 months.
They also do Adelaide - Alice Springs - Darwin rotations as part of Perth - Adelaide.

Since their 330 went to HKG.
Lots if F100 non peak ADL PER now with VA.
Pity.
The F100 seats are indeed hard with little cushioning.
Seat backs have German and English writings.
Noisy too.
But you MUST fly them once to test the extra 0.4in extra width seats.
F100 has 17.4in vs 17in widht in swats than on most planes.
Less economy X seats too on these A320s and F100s.

looked at timetable & Virgin does PER/ADL nonstop 9 times a week with F100 currently & 8 times a week in mid Dec & few times a week with A320. F100s can't do PER/MEL nonstop, at leats not with any passengers.

If memory serves VA kicked off the Kalgoorlie - Melbourne Friday flights as a bit of a weekend away at the footy type concept. And then as Bagpuss said it then does returns to Adelaide until it heads back to Kal. Need to be cautious not to book the A320 when heading to Melbourne for the weekend!
The F100 out of Perth to Adelaide has been happening for quite a while now sadly, they're also sending 100s to Alice Springs from here.

I actually like the F100s. Much better legroom than a 737. Not too noisy if you're in the front half of the aircraft.

I do PER-ADL a fair bit and try to avoid the F100s. (Row 3 B737 way nicer the the F100.).

Initially the F100 had no Wireless entertainment but many of the F100 now do - just from experience when I get stuck on them don't have any hard stat to quote.

In early days of 737 operations moving to F100s between PER and ADL there was a period where if you flew on a VA F100 they had iPad minis in every seat pocket with preloaded content but that didn't last long. Think I only had that on 2x F100 flights.

The F100s are great in economy in the front half of the plane. Good loads too on the F100 KGI<>MEL, at least from what I have seen.
