I drive a boring White GXL Prado, with bull bar, roll bar, cargo barrier, and roof mounted lights and beacon. Anyone thats been in county WA will have seen hundreds of look a likes.

Now a yellow hummer, that would stick out.

When at home, an Evo 6/6.5 GSR (some RS options and a whole heap of mods)
No carbon offset from me, this thing can consume fuel about the same rate your hummer would ! (Could have something to do with the way its driven)
And a boring toyota camry for commuting to work.

I used to drive a Peugeot 206 GTi 180, (rally car), and live right in the centre of Melbourne, so small and zippy was great, but drove it maybe once a month or less, so got rid of it.

I'm currently driving a Chevrolet Impala (hire car) and have had a range of those over the last few weeks. The absolute worst was a Mustang, it drove like it was put together by a 12 year old with a hammer. American cars are S*&t, I've tried to get a European hire car but it's almost impossible, very frustrated, given that I'm currently driving more than flying.

Slightly warmed-up 5.7L V8 VX Calais. Pretty basic modifications - has 223kw at the wheels and does the 1/4 in 12.9. Great on the highway though, really comfy.

Bit of a common misconception that V8 = thirsty. Mine uses barely any more fuel than my VS V6 Commodore, despite making almost 3x the power. When you've got torque, you don't need to wring it's neck all the time. Nice relaxed easy driving...that's why I love my V8.

Mine is a VU II 'S' Holden Ute, its red so it goes fast.

It's a work horse for tools and has a lock down lid which I can recomend everyone to have if they get a ute.

Sports exhaust, lowered and it's a 5 speed MANUAL (for all you "man can" auto drivers)

I have been given the marching orders to trade it in (by the wife). Me thinks a 'S' Crewman (baby on the way).

I'd say 75% of the readers off this will have no idea of what your talking about. If you get a crewman you will be drinking lots of Solo

I'm big into carbon neutral stuff but must confess I have another Hummer (black) I brought with me from Japan and a classic british racing green Jag that needs a bit more TLC downstairs. To be honest the Benz uses much more gas than the Hummers or Jag.

I assume you mean a H2 hummer ?
Most may be supprised to know that its fuel usage is better than a petrol 4.7l landcruiser. (Then again maybe not)

I used to own a silverado pickup and the nice big chev v8 used to use a less than the very similar chev v8 in the commodoors. I was really not expecting that but thats the way it was.

My point is everybody says xyz (insert hummer etc here) is bad but maybe not as bad as you expect.

Interesting - I don't feel so bad about my 1995 Jeep Cherokee now. Thinking about a new car but can't bring myself to get rid of teh Jeep - guess that will be my diving car in a year or so. Thinking about kids in 2008 so need to factor that into a car purchase... I actually don't drive that much as mrssimongr drives the Jeep to work and I am stuck on the train - talk about a step down from an F seat on QF to a bench on Cityrail
