about 2-3 weeks ago, almost all as available shown premium cabin on QF was bookable. Talking for Jan/Feb 2017.
Now ALL prmium space is gone. On aa.com, qf, ba and ef. Specifically on QF9 and 1 to europe. Reason behind? Or work around?

Most likely phantom or already grabbed via Q website which is released earlier than AA. Perhaps AA have cleaned up their phantom issue at last so now those don't show.

I was searching for Jan - Feb on the days when seats were released (so a few weeks ago) and while showing as available, none were bookable so they were phantom. I ended up purchasing them through Qantas.

even through QF nothing seems to be avail which was 2-3 weeks before easyly availabe on QF,EF,BA,AA

So they have been snaffled by someone else. If you are ready to book and there is availability then you need to grab them immediately.

thats for sure, but if they just block, for unknown reason?
If you saw them originally then they disappeared then it isnt because they have suddenly been blocked. There are so few seats released and so many people these days with points to burn that you just really need to be quick.

Emirates may open up a bit later than Qantas, and Cathay sometimes release more seats closer to the end so always keep checking just in case. And grab them immediately if you do see them.

no, its just NOT true, they wehere available, PLENTY. And suddenly nothing, not first, not business. That has nothing to do with speed

But the OP did see them originally so this might be different.

Did you drill down though and try to book on AA? It often looks like there are plenty available but they might be on the same flight with just a slightly different connecting flight. And when you go to book you can't. Phantom. Maybe AA have cleaned this up and phantom no longer shows. They dont show on BA and Qantas and never have, And yes, with award bookings it is everything to do with speed.

I booked QF9 (First Class in November 2016) to LHR this morning using the buy miles promo on AA.

There is still phantom availability so be careful.

I'm seeing lots of availability in QF F being returned on AA. However, when you select the flight(s) and click "Continue" at the bottom of the page, all it does is reload the page with the results; it doesn't proceed to the booking stage. ExpertFlyer and QF do not return any seats when AA does. As discussed in the thread referenced above, this has been going on for many weeks and I can't understand how AA hasn't fixed it. It's extremely poor.

Yes, beside the still existing huge phantom availibility, there are dates where you are able to complete the travellers/payment page, which means the seats are THERE. Its some sort of gem searching, but in Jan very successfull
