I'm looking to book ~15 pax in Y seats SYD-SIN return for early December. The pax are fairly price sensitive so I'd like to assess my options for approaching this. I could just book that many seats in one or more PNRs, and I've tried reaching out to a few travel agents but haven't heard back from despite them promising to do so. Additionally, I've looked into bulk bookings with QF and SQ but their quotes are higher than Google Flights/SkyScanner. I'm not looking to be spoonfed, but I'd be really appreciative if you guys could share any advice or if you have any particular method you like to use specifically for large bookings :)

Look for companies that specialise in group travel, if you haven’t already done so.

The problem is google flights would only be searching for fares for 1 (or a couple) of people, but most flights probably don't have 15 seats available in the lowest bucket.

To get 15 seats they probably have to go 1-2 buckets higher to get 15 seats, and they would charge all 15 at the higher rate.

15 is not a large booking. I've seen single families approach this number. I don't think you'll get much of a discount for 15, that's barely more than the max pax per PNR (which I think is 9). If your airline group quotes are more than google flights then that confirms that.

It might be cheaper to book yourself directly with the airline, but experiment with how many pax you can book without the price going up. Ideally booking 9+6 over two bookings would give the best result, but you may need to adjust if there's not 9 seats available in the lowest bucket.

If you have specific dates some on here with ExpertFlyer might be able to help with advising how many seats are available.

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately I've been ghosted by every one I've reached out to :( If you have any specific recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Thank you for the insight regarding fare bucketing! From Google Flights, I believe Scoot has 9 seats left in their lowest bucket and Qantas has only 4.

We are tentatively looking at 1-5 December.

Make sure you get the money before booking, especially if the fares are non-refundable/changeable.

Any and everybody who has ever organised such travel knows that there is always at least one person who mucks you about and you end up out of pocket.

FWIW we had a family group of 32 travel from MEL to ARN in mid 2019 b4 the rona attacked - there were multiple routes for diff pax to and fro but a totally professional real live TA put it all together seamlessly - I have never met or dealt with mr but many here speak very highly of him - the best advice I could’ve er give is handball it to a professional
