What's the best use of 110k points on Velocity

Do you already have the required points in your account? I believe options are greyed out if you have insufficient points.

Ah this could explain it as I don't have the points yet. However the normal business redemption 800K+ shows up as available?

Hi all,

Just signed up for the 110K points yesterday and was trying to find some insight into velocity redemptions so thought I'd post here [mods please feel free to move this post if there is a more appropriate location for this question].

Trying to find flights from MEL - EU next year in May/June 2016 and it seems that all the Business Saver options are either sold out or greyed out and not selectable? Is this common? Is there a timing issue to be aware off when looking at a velocity redemption? Would love to take EY from Melb to EU but can't seem to find any availability. Any thoughts or insights around this? Thanks

Where you heading. Also try doing bookings separately ie, MEL - AUH then AUH ???

Ideally AMS but not fussed as long as I'm positioned somewhere in Western EU and happy to LLC from there if required. I tried AUH as well but all I'm seeing is this:

I would personally convert it to 81481 Krisflyer miles and use it for SQ SYD-SIN-HKG on either J or Suites depending on the amount of points available in my account.

Another good redemption is SQ J to Europe as it costs just over 80K Krisflyer points.

However the EY F Apartments and J Studios looks very interesting, but I have not yet found a good reason to go to Europe or UAE so far.

Alternatively one-way to Los Angeles on VA J is pretty good deal. It is a very long flight afterall.

So do you think it's a lack of points that is resulting in the greyed out options to AUH? Can't seem to make head or tail of it :/

If you can see the points it's able to be booked, albeit if it's greyed out your balance is short.

Thx knasty - Funny thing is when you try a AUH - MEL there's a big sign that says you don't have the points to book...but on the example I was using, MEL - AUH there was no banner hence the confusion.

So having run through a dummy booking I can answer this -- it shows as available as you can use points + pay and adjust the slider. The minimum amount of points required to make these bookings is 10,000.

Thanks for confirming Liroquai - This seems to be my experience as well. Availability looks really good to the middle east, some EU and the US so cant wait for the points to appear and to lock the booking in :)
