Mum and I are at the Stamford Sydney Airport with a fantantic view of the airport. We've seen some airport fire trucks get activated and some emergency services hurrying to the airport.

One airport fire turck came flashing lights to the corner near our hotel but quickly bugged out.

Planes are still taking off and landing but alot of vehicle are suddenly driving around.

Anyone know more?

Dinner time and one of the Rookie fire fighters pressed pickup rather than delivery:D:D

Used to love the Dominoes thirty minutes or it's free offer when I worked in the tower, they always went to the Domestic Terminal instead of the tower at Kyeemah, ker ching ;).

Passengers are still in shock that emergency vehicles drove close to a Quantas 797 just moments ago as it was scheduled to depart for Melbourne.

Mmm, yes. I can just see my observations becoming a mega story

12th floor at the Stamford has a great view of the airport.

QANTIS CAUSES DEMISE OF RARE SPECIES OF BIRD - ANOTHER SLAP IN THE FACE FOR THE BANKRUPT AIRLINE?

A rare species of bird was made extinct due to Qintis today as it flew head first into a window at the Stanford Grand. This was caused experts claim by the bird being blinded by an emergency vehicle flashing lights being directed onto the airport as there was a suspected issue on a Qontis international flight on its one of its ageing Airbus 747s

Passengers felt they too were in mortal danger and there was a risk of engine failure with a hysterical flight crew issuing instructions such as "please fasten your seatbelt for landing" and " please place your seat upright" It was bedlam said one passenger - I feared for my life, and that bird - I saw it happen right before my eyes - we were landing towards the east, I was in seat 55K, I looked out the window and BAM!

Unnamed experts from the aviation industry agreed that under certain conditions, this may well could have been Austria's biggest airline disaster - especially if the Airbus A737 had of not even been landing on the runway, instead trying to land in Pitt St in peak hour. The experts were seen leaving for the local pub physically shaken and emotionally strained at this thought. The engineers union offered to pay for drinks.
