What to do with My Platinum One Free Platinum Partner Offer

Ok so I am at a loss, what to do with it this year, normally I have give it to a colleague, but currently I am in start up mode as the lone employee in Aus for a US company, so no colleague that could truly benefit from it. My Wife only travels with me if she travels so wasted on her. Has anyone found anything creative to do with theirs in the past, has anyone had success for example trading it back to Qantas for some points or similar?????

Not that I've tried but I'd be very surprised if anything else (like points) would be given instead of the gift-platinum. They've received feedback from me and I suspect quite a few others over the years that it would be good to give P1s a choice of benefits, as partner-platinum (as it used to be) would not suit everyone. But no dice.

Agree. Obvious advantage to doing it asap but if there's no-one the OP has in mind yet then why rush.

Needs to be QFF member, but beyond that I doubt it needs to be an Australian. I'll see if I can check back to my benefits info.

No. It's one person per membership year.

Haven't looked super closely but the recent change allows it to be a family member or friend "at any address" so that might imply it's OK, as long as a member of QFF.

uh yeah I would NOT sell this. definitely against the QFF T&C.

When the offer changed last year from Partner only to "Gift anyone" Plat (a REAL honest to God Enhancement ) I gave it to a good friend of mine who has made good use, and now moving to the USA to get married, but she will have it for about another 16 months which will work out very nicely for the love birds. A happy gift for me to make. Next membership year I have someone else in mind, but we'll see.
