Apologies if this has been covered before. My 122K HH points don’t appear to get me too much in the way of a decent room. The ‘Pay with Points’ rate is a fair bit higher than the cheapest advance purchase rate, making it almost uneconimical to use the points for a room. Besides, there are so few Hilton’s in Australia that I will probably not stay in one this year. I’m thinking I should maybe just transfer the points to Velocity. Any thoughts?

I also have around 100,000 Hhonors points and find it difficult to get decent value. Generally Hhonors points are worth around 0.5c/point.

Where you might get decent value are the Doubletrees overseas in places such as Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur where points + pay redemptions look to be good value especially Kuala Lumpur.

I find the best value from Hilton is at the extremes: the very cheap (5k) and the very expensive. Places in the middle like Australia offers limited value for redemptions. I normally save my points for quick stopovers in SG, DPS and KL.

I have 200,000 points and have yet to find any suitable use for them. Might consider transfer to VA depending on May's bonus.

I've redeemed before at DT KL (10k) and recently redeemed at a mix of DT and HGI in China for 10-20k each.

All with rates in the A$130-190 range so decent value.

I think the other value is in some of the uber expensive properties eg. WA chain or Maldives etc
